Our first stop in our trip was to the city of Bangkok. We landed pretty late (after 12AM) but it seems to be normal there. The weather is very hot and humid even at night. There is a lot to do and see in Bangkok. Here is a list of all the things we managed to do while in Bangkok.

Things to Do
The Grand Palace
One of the main tourist activities when visiting Bangkok is to visit their magnificent temples. There are hundreds of temples scattered throughout the city – the most popular being the Grand Palace. Within the Grand Palace, there are several buildings worth seeing including the Temple of the Emerald Buddha.
Wat Arun
After you’re done visiting the Grand Palace, make sure you make some time to visit Wat Arun. You can easily spend a whole day exploring temples and other landmarks along the Chao Phraya River.
CentralWorld
This is one of the biggest shopping plazas in the world and is a must-see for both locals and for tourists. There are numerous stores as well as restaurants here. We walked around for a few hours and even bought some things that we needed.
New Year’s Eve at Vertigo and Moon Bar
The reason why Brea and I decided to travel to Bangkok was so that we could spend NYE in a different country to get a different experience. After doing extensive research online, we decided to go to Vertigo and Moon Bar for their rooftop bar. During NYE, they offered packages that included a 7- course meal, live music, and champagne. It is very steep though (47,800 Baht for 2 people). We were able to see fireworks (although we thought we would be closer to them) from a distance.
You are able to get up and walk around. There was a nice area to take photos.
Nana Plaza
Don’t take your kids here if you are traveling with kids! Nana Plaza is an adult entertainment area that consists of a bunch of bars located in one area. Yes there are also strip bars here. It is one of the famous red light districts in Bangkok.
Thai Massages
If you like to get pampered and like to get massages, you should definitely get one while in Thailand. You will really get a Thai massage and for cheap too!
Damnoen Saduak Floating Market
Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is a very unique and tourist-friendly attraction located southwest of Bangkok. You can purchase items here as well as food all while riding on a wooden boat! It is about an hour outside of Bangkok though. We took a Grab taxi (similar to Uber or Lyft).
Neon Market
Across from our Airbnb was a night market. We went there one night and it was a great experience! There were many vendors as well as food and alcohol booths.
Some other things to do in Bangkok that we didn’t have time to do included:
Sathorn Unique Tower
Asiatique
Erawan Falls
Where to Stay
The Airbnb we stayed at was located in the Chidlom area. The room was very spacious and modern.
They also have a gym!
And a beautiful infinity pool on the rooftop that anyone can use.
Where to Eat
Bangkok is known for its bountiful street food but there are also restaurants with a variety of different cuisine. Brea and I didn’t really do that much research into where to eat because we are not foodies but here were some of the food we enjoyed while in Bangkok.
Overall, we managed to see and do a satisfyingly good amount in Bangkok despite our short time there. It was hot, humid and even rained one night but that just added to the unexpectedness of this city. Next time, I would like to try more of their street food!
