After visiting Bangkok, we took a short flight to Phuket, located in southern Thailand. Phuket consists of several small islands and crystal clear water. You can visit the famous Phi Phi Islands as well as James Bond Island here. Make sure to pack swimsuits!

Things to Do
Phi Phi Islands
If you’ve ever seen pictures or videos of Thailand, then most likely you saw the Phi Phi Islands. These small islands have been featured in many movies and for good reason too! Phi Phi Islands offer beautiful rock formations with clear blue waters and sandy beaches. You will definitely want to add a trip to the Phi Phi Islands to your itinerary when visiting Thailand.
Phang Nga Bay
Phang Nga Bay is known for its limestone cliffs and rock formations that come vertically out of the water. You can visit the famous James Bond Island here as well as a Monkey Temple and the Cave of the Reclining Buddha. You can also kayak through caves!
Phuket Big Buddha
Phuket Big Buddha is a 45 meter tall white statue located on top of Nakkerd Hills that is visible from almost anywhere in Phuket. At the top, you get great panoramic views! Bring a drone if you have one.
Promthep Cape
This was a beautiful lookout point in the southern tip of Phuket. We visited during sunset and got an amazing view. There were a lot of people who had the same idea but if you just keep walking in you will be able to find an area with no one there.
Patong Beach
Bangla Road in Patong is a very long street filled with people, bars, shops, and food. It is heavily populated and reminded us of Bourbon St. in New Orleans.
Where to Stay
Similar to Bangkok we stayed at an Airbnb in Phuket. It was located in an apartment building that had a great pool area too.
Where to Eat
We ate at a coffee shop in Phuket called The Coffee Club Thailand. They serve a lot of different types of food and the coffee was good as well!
There are other food options located inside their big mall – Jungceylon. Make sure you check it out!
Phuket had so much to offer – from snorkeling in the Phi Phi Islands to sight seeing at James Bond Island, you will definitely enjoy your time here. On the drive to Promthep Cape, we also ran into a cute baby elephant!
