The Big Lagoon in El Nido is only accessible via boat or kayak. You’ll be able to kayak throughout the entire Big Lagoon all while being surrounded by giant limestone cliffs and crystal clear water.
El Nido has many lagoons that you can visit. Big Lagoon is part of Tour A and it was our last stop after the Secret Lagoon and snorkeling. There are many tour companies you can go with – we decided to go with Tarawis. The total was 7,500 PHP which is about $150 USD for all 3 of us. The tour included transportation via boat, life jackets, snorkel gear, as well as lunch.
Since this was our last destination for the day, we were pretty tired already haha. It was also pretty hot when we were kayak-ing. You are provided life vests but you’re not required to wear them.
Our kayak was able to fit all 3 of us – the person in the middle didn’t have to paddle at all. That was me most of the time.
There is an area that is really shallow where you can dock your kayak on the shore and take pictures like below:
Brea and our friend tried multiple times to get this shot! There was a lot of laughing and falling into the water …
We kayak-ed around for about an hour and were drained by the end of it. Make sure to wear adequate sunscreen and bring water!
One thing that we wished was different was that Brea still had her drone (long story). That would have made for some really cool shots of the lagoon.
