Snake Island is one of the many beautiful attractions in El Nido. It is a sandbar during low tide. You can even hike up higher to get a better view of the white sand and water!
Snake Island is part of Tour B in El Nido and was the first destination that we visited. We booked the private tour through Tarawis. The total was 7,500 PHP which is about $150 USD for all 3 of us. The tour included transportation via boat, life jackets, snorkel gear, as well as lunch. This was the same tour that we used for Tour A (which included the Secret Lagoon!)
When you first arrive at Snake Island, you will need to walk to the shore from the boat. This is actually harder than it sounds! Especially if you don’t have any water shoes and if the water is rough. Make sure to bring a dry bag with you and put all of your things in there as you walk to the shore.
Since there were a few people on the white sand beach, we decided to hike up first instead. It was pretty weird hiking in our swim suits haha. I didn’t want to think about what would happen if I fell.
There are a few viewpoints as you hike up that make for a good photo. Here was one.
And then there is a second one at the very top.
The hike is only maybe 10 to 15 minutes up. By the time we got back down, we had the white sand bar to ourselves!
This was a very tranquil location. It wasn’t very busy at all and had amazing views.
