Two Bit Circus

Two Bit Circus Club01

For day 19, we decided to visit a new arcade/bar that we only heard about so far called Two Bit Circus. This amusement park is located in the Arts District and opened September 7. There aren’t any rides but if you’re looking for a place where you can eat, drink, play games including VR and escape rooms then you found it!

Hours

Two Bit Circus is open everyday except for Monday.

Tuesday to Thursday: 5PM to 11PM
Friday: 5PM to 1AM
Saturday: 1PM to 1AM
Sunday: 1PM to 11PM

They also have special hours during Holidays and blackout dates so make sure to check out their website first prior to your visit.

Address/Directions

Address: 634 Mateo St. Los Angeles, CA 90021

Admission

Admission into Two Bit Circus is free. However, if you want to play any of their games, you’ll have to get one of their Playing Cards (similar to Dave n Busters). You can buy this at the Main Desk and put any amount that you want. They offer specials where if you purchase $100 of playing credit, you will get an additional $25 worth. This was available when we were there for the holidays, so we are unsure if it will be available any time after. If you plan to do their story rooms (also known as escape rooms), you can reserve your spot online in advance. Don’t forget to sign waivers at the entrance. You can do it before your visit online as well.

Parking

There is a small parking lot right in front of Two Bit Circus and apparently there are 32 spots only (we didn’t count but someone else did). We drove into the lot but couldn’t find a spot so just parked on the street. We got lucky and parked right next to the entrance.

If you plan to visit this entertainment center, make sure you allocate enough time to explore all that Two Bit Circus has to offer. We booked our online reservation for one of the story rooms at 10PM and then spent the rest of the night exploring.

Story Rooms

Two Bit Circus has several story rooms with different storylines and various prices:

Space Squad in Space
4-6 players, 25 minutes, $20-$22 per person

The Lost City
4-6 players, 45 minutes, $30-$35 per person

The Raft
1-4 players, 15 minutes, $15-$18 per person

Red Flags
1 hour, $75

We recommend you book your time slot on their website in advance to avoid waiting in lines. We decided to only do The Lost City story room. Since we were a group of four, they added on two additional people to go with us (they were very helpful!). Unfortunately, we did not escape the room and were apparently only two puzzles away. If we had more time, we would probably have also done The Raft story room, since one of Brea’s friends that we ran into there said it was really fun.

The Arena and VR Cabanas

There are a good amount of VR games at Two Bit Circus and they are located in The Arena. Each game has a line and an estimated time that you have to wait so make sure to get in line early if you want to play one of the games. If you don’t want to wait in line, you can book one of their VR Cabanas that is for a max of 6 people. It was fun just watching people play the VR games.

You can wait up to 2 hrs for a VR game.

Midway and Arcade

Before you can play any of their games, you will need to get a Playing Card and fill it up with “Bits”. Games can range from $0.50 cents to $4.00. I liked the games they had here because I’ve never seen them in other arcades before. We managed to spend a couple hours playing a variety of games. There are both single player and multiplayer games so our group of 4 was perfect.

If you keep walking around, you will find other interesting attractions too that don’t cost any money.

Two Bit Circus Media Pollution
You can sit behind these TVs and the person on the other side will see some strange things!
Two Bit Circus Space Palette
You can put your hands through some openings and make music

Gearmo Del Pouro

This is the name of their robot bartender! You can order 3 kinds of drinks from the bar located in the back left and watch as the robot makes your drink right in front of you – it was very amusing to watch. The drink list is at the bar. All the drinks were fairly sweet.

Of course there is also a real bartender there too if you want any other kinds of drinks.

Two Bit Circus was a nice way to spend our night with some friends. Brea and I used to go to Dave n Busters a lot in the past so this reminded us of those times. The games are a little pricey but they were still fun to play. You should definitely do one of their story rooms and play one of the VR games if time permits.
