7 Things You’re Going to Need on Your First Post-COVID-19 Vacation

7 things youll need

If you’re on our website, you probably want to travel and are wondering where to go to. We are anxiously waiting on our next vacation as well. But while we wait, here is a list of items that you’re going to need on your next trip to make it feel like it was worth the wait!

Just to note, as an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases so feel free to help support us. Now let’s get started, you will need:

1. A Bomb facial routine

Let’s be honest: COVID got us wearing masks any time we’re outside our home. A great facial routine is a must. Sunblock and face cleanser should be on your essentials list.

  • Mederma Sunblock
  • Rice water oil cleanser and rice water bright foam cleanser

I’ve been using Mederma Sunblock for years. Supposedly it helps with the appearance of scars but I haven’t seen it personally 🤷‍♀️ other people get really great results. Maybe it will work for you but I still like to use it because it’s a great little sunblock for my face.

I got results from their gel item. Took a year… but at least my mosquito scar is no more.

After watching some Korean-dramas during COVID, I got inspired to take up their facial cleansing routine. I will write an article later and link it here with all the items I use. I’m no way a facial products expert, but they recommend washing and massaging with oil cleanser first to remove gunk then follow up with a foam cleanser. If you can massage your face for a bit during this process, even better as that will help the circulation in your face. Rice water is said to have some good properties for your face, so bam! It also is cheap on Amazon.

2. A good camera

You’re going to be making some great new memories that you’ll need picture proof to keep in your ammo stock for the next quarantine. There’s a lot of new camera / smart phones coming out with upgraded cameras. That also means that the outdated models are getting a price cut!

We got the Sony ZV-1 during this time to video log our trips, mostly for personal use. It’s been a great user friendly tool to use. It’s small, compact and you can see yourself while recording. Another plus is easy face masking to make your mask-acne go away. Your face will be smoothie. It has a product feature that focuses on items that you bring up to the camera real quick and back at you when you’re done. You can get easy bokeh with a push of a button on command. This camera screams “Easy”.

3. Sturdy waterproof camera

You can’t have a worry-free vacation without a waterproof camera! Go swimming, snorkeling, jump off cliffs in peace and get footage of you enjoying life 6 ft away from others!

My recommended go-to even from all this time is a Go-Pro. I’ve had a Go-Pro since the 5 black. My oldest, most used accessory ever is their selfie stick. If you can get their latest version, do so. If not, get the one before it for a price cut.

Do not skip out on getting a selfie stick so you can record yourself. You can just try to hold it with your own hand, but let’s be honest, will you look good that close? Unless you have that ZV-1 (it’s not waterproof though) I mentioned earlier, not a lot of cameras have that face smoothing feature out of the box.

4. Comfortable hiking shoes

If you use running sneakers for every hike, you’re missing out. Hiking shoes makes your life a lot better. Your feet will not feel every twist at every rock nor will they feel tired after a few hours.

Our go-to brands are Keen and Salomon. My personal favorite is Salomon Speedcross Gore-tex 5. Get something with Gore-tex. You’ll never know when you need that extra waterproof ability! Especially if you’re going somewhere where there’s snow. Trust! No one likes wet socks.

5. A loud, portable speaker

Your vacation is most likely going to be outdoors, since it’s the only thing that’s been open during this pandemic. Bring the party everywhere with a speaker. Of course be considerate if there are others around.

My latest addition to my surround sound family is the Sonos Move.

It is my favorite speaker from the family. Deep bass. Portability is on point. Battery life is uber dependable. Meaning pretty long without being on its charging cradle. A little big, but again, you need it for all that bass. If you are not part of the Sonos family but still want something portable, I wouldn’t recommend buying this because if you do, you’ll want to start having the entire family. And the entire family is not cheap.

Also if you’re flying and want to bring this, it will not be the best option. Great option if you’re driving around. But a good alternative is always Bose speakers. I am all for the deep bass and they seriously deliver that and quality audio as well. They also have some really portable speakers available to bring on planes without compromising on the sound too much.

6. The living essential thing – Water

With the whole pandemic and now fires in California, if you’re from California, you are going to need water.

Stay hydrated! It’s super important for your health and your skin. It can be hard to do that when you’re traveling, but it doesn’t have to be. Either bring your own water bottle to refill with a gallon in the trunk or buy tons of water bottles from Costco. And if you are backpacking, make sure to get a filtration system so you don’t have to carry a bunch of water in and you can drink from natural spring water.

7. The obvious essential item – Hand Sanitizer!

I don’t need to explain this. I really hope I shouldn’t have to, haha.

I like to keep a small hand sanitizer handy at all times. I have one in every bag I bring. I hope you do too, nowadays considering. Personally I like ones from Bath and Body Works.

Keep living and stay safe!
