We decided to continue our venture into the city on the fifth day (October 3, 2018) and visited downtown LA again. There are many spots around the city that provide a good photo opportunity – you just have to be able to find them.
The one that we went to was located on 106 S Beaudry Ave. On the night that we went, we parked on the street (not knowing that the area we were walking to was actually a parking lot) and walked over. From a distance, it looks like there is only one level to the parking lot, but as you get closer, you’ll see that there is a ramp leading up to another level. There were a couple of cars already parked there and a few people taking pictures as well. There were two people doing a photoshoot of their car under a long exposure setting. We managed to stay out of their way and vice versa.
The view from this area overlooks the freeway. There is a fence that separates you from the cars but we found a small opening. If you go through the opening, you’ll be able to capture the city skyline without anything impeding your view.
We spent quite some time here because the view was breathtaking with the skyline in the background and the clouds moving above us. Brea brought her drone again and did more hyperlapse videos.
One of our friends saw us posting on Instagram about our 27 days of adventure and wanted to come along for one of the nights. He didn’t realize that we were going to go take night photos though so was a little sad that he forgot to bring his camera.
We brought along our dog too – he seemed to enjoy the view just as much as we did. There was glass on the floor though, so we had to let him sit in the car after a while.
