Day 6 – Weller Court in Little Tokyo

Light Tunnel at Weller Court

For the sixth day (October 4, 2018), we visited a plaza in Little Tokyo – Weller Court. We have gone here before to get dinner at our favorite curry place but somehow we never noticed the light tunnel located inside the plaza.

Parking

If you get lucky, you might be able to find some street parking. Unfortunately, we were not lucky this night so we had to park in a parking lot. It does cost money but you are able validate depending on where you go. We ate at the curry place right after so we were able to get our parking validated. You can also get your parking validated if you go to the market place near by. It takes cash only. There is an ATM in the parking structure and a parking lot attendant available.

Light Tunnel

The lights do turn off! If you are visiting the light tunnel, make sure you go when the stores in the plaza are still open. Brea and I went around 10pm one night and the lights were not on.

We had better luck the second time that we went because there was really no one walking through the light tunnel (this was around 7:30pm). We managed to capture a couple pictures but then realized there was a sign that said no photography unless with permission (I have no idea who you would get permission from though). Right after we saw the sign, we also saw security guards and one walked up to us and told us we can’t take pictures. So we just left after that.

These photos were taken on the Sony A7Riii with a Zeiss wide angle lens:
