Interested in developing your archery skills or just want to try something new? There is a great, free, archery range located in West Hollywood! You will need to bring your own bow and arrows though (unless you take one of their free classes). This location was shut down for a while for renovations but now they are open again and Brea and I just visited and had a really fun time.

Rancho Park Archery Range
Rancho Park Archers offers free introductory classes every Saturday at 11AM and every 2nd Sunday at 1:30PM. They provide you with your equipment (bow and arrows) in the class. The classes are also first-come, first-served and have a maximum of 24 people so they suggest to get there early. If you already have your own equipment and know how to use them, you don’t need to take the class. After you have taken two classes, you are able to borrow their equipment and use them during the Supervised Open Shooting (two times) for free.
Supervised Open Shooting times:
Saturdays: 9:30AM to 11:30AM & 1:30PM to 3:30PM
Sundays: 11AM to 2PM
Since Brea already knew how to do archery and had her own equipment, we didn’t need to take any classes. We arrived around 4PM on a Saturday and it was pretty empty. There are a couple of target locations that you can choose from.
The one that we went to had no one at first but then two other groups of people showed up.
We spent about an hour here and Brea shot her set of arrows several times. Another good thing about this archery range is that dogs are allowed! We brought Scott along with us and he watched as the arrows went flying.
If you are interested in other sports like badminton or golf, they have areas for that as well. We will definitely be making more trips to this archery range in the future!
