Located in eastern Bali, Tirta Gangga used to be a royal palace but now is an open water garden with plenty of fish. It is a popular but peaceful tourist attraction.
Hours
Tirta Gangga is open everyday from 7AM to 6PM.
Admission
The entrance fee is 40,000 IDR per person which is about $3 USD. The thing that we liked about this attraction was that you could pay an extra 500,000 IDR (~$35 USD) to fly your drone. We did this so that Brea can fly her Mavic 2 Pro!
Tirta Gangga
We decided to visit Tirta Gangga after we went to the Lempuyang Temple since we still had time before our flight back to LA. Our driver actually suggested it to us and I am glad that he did.
Tirta Gangga is very beautiful! You can walk on the floating steps to go further inside or you can just stay on the outside and watch the fishes. If you want the fishes to migrate towards you, you can buy some food to feed them.
This water garden wasn’t that crowded during the time that we visited – there was only a few other people there. So we managed to take a lot of good photos and even had some fun with it.
Brea also spent some time flying her drone.
Just be aware that since there is so much open water, there will also be a lot of mosquitos. We got bit a lot here.
Overall, this place was quite peaceful and serene – definitely worth a visit!
